When I’m not writing short stories here at Life of Fiction, commentary and opinionation is what I do. In that line of work, you’re always wrong until the moment you are right, at which point you have no credibility left, you have nothing left but poverty and a pathetic “I told you so.” Wouldn’t it be nice if once, just this once, you put aside that bullshit detector you carry around in your soul and took what I said as gospel?

Let me show you how smart ChatGPT can be. It helped me figure out just how biased modern media really is. And it’s all our fault, too.

I was provoked into writing this piece by a cocktail conversation with a guy who was astonished to learn that I once worked for Rupert Murdoch. “How could you?” he said. “That man has done so much damage to our country.” He’s not alone, Murdoch’s Fox News Channel is the fevered preoccupation of many of my liberal friends. It’s now liberal orthodoxy that FNC’s to blame for the desperate, fallen state of the Republic. So, I thought I’d look at the numbers, you know, where the unvarnished truth lies.

Was I in for a surprise.
